The most wonderful time of the year is when our holiday thank you gifts are packed with care and making their way to our clients.

Every year we celebrate the holiday season with a bespoke gift box for our clients to say how grateful we are for our partnerships and to flex our creativity. We start by choosing a theme with ideas either stemming from a specific product or an idea.

This year, we were inspired by the nostalgic reboots that were taking over—from the Barbie movie to the huge amount of 1970’s waves gracing our homes, we knew we wanted to embrace the styles of yesteryear with a good old fashioned newspaper.

After a bit of brainstorming, we landed on a “Newsworthy and Noteworthy” theme. There were two key components to the gift:

1. Newsworthy

We collected tons of images throughout the year and categorized our research into 12 recurring themes. We then narrowed down our findings into trends that we were noticing in both graphic design and interior design, and specifically what we thought some of our clients could embrace in the upcoming year. The long form version of the research is a succinct microsite (studiovanm.com/2024-trends), and the TL;DR version is a printed tabloid newspaper with our high level findings.

2. Noteworthy

This is a holiday gift after all, so beyond the gift of insight, we created a set of 5 trend-inspired greeting cards. Each greeting card also corresponded with a newsprint wrapping paper.

We had so much fun bringing this to life and embracing trends that we predict will follow us in to the new year.

We’re already thinking about how we can dig even deeper into this concept for next year. Stay tuned for Volume 2 of our new Annual and Happy Holidays from Studio van M!
