Week 1 is behind us and I can already see my vision coming together!
So far, we have made more progress than I thought we would, which is really a great way to start a project! My goal for Week 1 was to paint one side of the house and lay the brick walkway. I had no idea how long it would take to both learn how to use the paint sprayer and actually get the job done, and I’m happy to report that I overestimated and we ended up getting almost three sides of the house painted over the weekend!
What we have done so far:
- Completely finished with painting the two long sides of the house
- Laid brick path
What we have left to do
- Finish painting the back side of the house (we are close on this one, just some details left)
- Painting the front of the house
- Add step up to the house (and tile it when the tiles arrive!)
- Finishing touches to our salvaged wood front door
- Hang wood front door
- Paint back patio door to match new exterior paint
- Clean up (this project has been pretty hard on our lawn, so this step might be a big one)
- Styling!
Sooo…about that project timeline?
We are way ahead, which means I have room to add in a few extra projects!
I already got started on giving our shed a little makeover. Painting the shed was always part of the plan, but I added lights and painted the hardware brass and it’s already so much cuter! I’m also going to add a little brick patio type thing to the front and some potted plants. Also majorly need to clean this space out and get it organized!
The last project we want to add is trying our hand at building some outdoor furniture for the front porch. I have been eyeing up these chairs for a while, and think I might be able to figure out a DIY version. ?Wish me luck haha
Make sure to check back next week to see what we’ve gotten done and also follow along with everyone else participating in the challenge!
